Hard Disk

Zora keeps the charts, logbook, documents and settings on a data disk of their own. On a Main Unit V3 it is the internal NVMe drive. On a Main Unit V2 it is a USB drive plugged into the main unit. Hard Disk shows how full it is.

Check the disk

  1. Tap the Zora logo in the app bar and choose Settings.... See Settings.
  2. Under System, tap Hard Disk.

The screen shows how full the disk is, as a percentage and a bar, then the space used of the total and the space still free. The figures are refreshed every five minutes. There is nothing to set here.

No storage detected means Zora cannot see the data disk.

When the disk fills up

Zora warns you as the disk fills, with a notification titled Wayfinder harddisk:

The disk isLevel
More than 85% fullAlert
More than 90% fullWarning
More than 97% fullAlarm

The notification clears once the disk is back to 85% or less.

When the disk fails

If the disk stops working while Zora runs, Zora raises one alarm: Hard disk fault: charts, logs and settings may not be saved. iNav4U has been contacted. Have the disk checked. When the disk is back, it reads Hard disk is working again.

If Zora starts and cannot find the disk, it shows No data volume instead of starting. Check that the disk is seated. Then switch Zora off at the breaker, wait ten seconds, and switch it back on. If the screen comes back after that, the disk needs service.

At start-up

Zora checks the disk every time it starts, before using it. A disk that will not mount is repaired. A blank disk, or one that cannot be repaired, is formatted only on a boat whose vessel details have never been saved. Once they have, Zora never formats the disk.
