Watch Timer
The watch timer counts down and calls you when it runs out, to keep you checking the horizon on a night watch or when sailing alone. It lives on the user button in the app bar, the one with your name and the time.
Start the timer
- Tap the user button. The drawer opens with Watch Timer under Station.
- Tap 15, 20 or 30 minutes.
The timer starts and the drawer closes.
For another length, tap the pencil left of Watch Timer, set the minutes (0 to 60) and seconds (0 to 59), and tap Start Timer.
If you last used 15, 20 or 30 minutes, that button is highlighted the next time you open the drawer.
While it runs
The user button shows the time left instead of your name, and turns orange. For the last ten seconds it turns red and shows the seconds in large figures.
Tap the user button to open the drawer:
- restart starts the count again from the full length.
- stop ends the timer.
When it runs out
A screen with two buttons covers the display:
- SNOOZE: starts the timer again with the same length.
- STOP: ends the timer.
If nobody taps either one within 15 seconds, the alarm sounds, and it repeats every 5 seconds until someone does.
On this display only
The timer runs on the display where you started it, and only that display calls you. Log Out in the app menu stops it, and so does Reload screen.
Local or UTC
Under Time displayed, the same drawer chooses the time on the user button:
- Local: the date and time in the boat's time zone, with the zone and its offset.
- UTC: the time in UTC. The button then shows it with a z, as in 14:30z.
To set the boat's time zone, tap the pencil left of Time displayed, or long-press the user button. Both open the Time Zone settings.
