Vessel Map ​

The Vessel Map is a plan of the boat, one image per deck, that the crew pans and zooms like a chart. You add the deck plans once, here. The crew then uses them on the Vessel Map screen in Zora, on the Equipment tab, to place and find equipment.

You do this in the Zora Setup app. See Open the Setup app.

The Vessel & Technical Maps card also shows Technical Map, marked coming soon. It does not open yet.

Prepare the images ​

  • One image per deck, as PNG, JPEG, TIFF or WebP.
  • Up to 100 MB for all the images of one upload together.
  • As large as you have. Zora cuts each image into tiles for zooming, and a larger image gives sharper detail at full zoom.
  • Name the files in deck order. Decks follow the alphabetical order of the file names, so start each name with 01-, 02- and so on: 01-flybridge.png, 02-main-deck.png, 03-lower-deck.png. The first file becomes deck 0, the deck the Vessel Map opens on. Zora numbers the decks from 0.

Build the decks ​

  1. On the Setup home screen, tap Vessel & Technical Maps, then Vessel Map.
  2. Under Add deck images, tap Select one image per deck and pick all the images at once.
  3. Check the Build order: list. Each line reads deck_0 ← 01-flybridge.png. If the order is wrong, tap Clear, rename the files and pick them again.
  4. Tap Build & Replace Decks, then Replace in Replace Vessel Map.

A bar shows the build deck by deck, such as Tiling deck_1 (deck 2 of 3), with the tiles done and a percentage. When it finishes, Setup says Vessel map rebuilt with 3 decks and the decks appear under Current decks.

If the build fails, Setup says Build failed: with the reason, and the decks you had stay as they were.

Every build replaces all the decks. To change one deck, select the images of all of them again, the new one with the others.

After a build ​

A Zora screen that is already open keeps the decks it loaded until it starts again. So after a build, Setup asks for a reboot in Reboot Required:

  • Reboot now restarts the boat. The Setup page reloads after 15 seconds; wait for the boat to come back.
  • Later leaves it to you. A Zora page on a tablet or laptop picks up the new decks when you reload it.

Markers the crew has placed keep their deck number. Keep the decks in the same order when you rebuild, or markers end up on the wrong deck.

Remove all decks ​

Tap Remove all beside Current decks, then Remove all again in Remove All Decks. Every deck goes. Setup asks for a reboot here too, and once restarted the Zora Vessel Map screen reads No vessel map available until you build new decks.
