Windy wind map
This Windy widget, in the weather group, shows Windy's wind forecast map inside the tile. It is the map the Weather screen shows, and you can put it on any screen. It needs internet.
The Windy widget in the interfaces group is a different one: a tile that opens the Windy website. See Windy.
Add it to a screen
In Edit Mode, open the weather group and tap Windy. It arrives 8 columns wide and 8 rows high.
Reading the widget
The map shows the wind, with a marker on the place it is centred on. Wind speed and temperature are in the units you use in Zora. Rain is in millimetres, or in inches if you use feet for short distances.
- The button at the top right opens the full Windy website at the boat's position.
- Every 15 minutes the map reloads, and the tile is blank for a moment.
- Without internet the tile shows a crossed-out globe.
Set it up
Open the widget's settings. The INFO tab has:
- Position Source: where the map is centred.
- Boat position: the boat's position.
- Device Position: the location of the tablet or computer you are looking on. When its browser cannot give one, the map centres on the boat.
- Fixed Position: the place in Fixed Latitude and Fixed Longitude, in decimal degrees.
- Zoom: how close the map starts, a positive number. It starts at 5.
Apply saves the widget.
