Diesel Engine
The Diesel Engine widget shows one engine as a single dial: rpm in the middle, four sensor readings around it, fuel and load at the sides, and the engine hours at the bottom. Put one on the screen for each engine.
Adding it to a screen
In edit mode, the widget is Diesel Engine in the engines group. It is 6 by 6 cells at the smallest. See Edit Mode.
Configuring it
The settings have two tabs.
- INFO
- Long Name: the title at the top of the dial. A name longer than 28 characters is cut short with …
- Max RPM: the rpm at which the ring is full. It starts at 3600 and must be a positive number.
- DATALINK: pick the engine. The tab accepts an engine that reports at least one of rpm, run time, oil pressure or temperature. See Data link.

Reading the gauge
The ring: 100 ticks that light up as the rpm rises. It is full at Max RPM, so with 3600 each tick is 36 rpm.
The centre: the rpm, moving smoothly to each new reading. Above 0 and under 100 rpm it reads ON.
The four tags around the dial:
- oil-press: oil pressure, in psi.
- oil-temp: oil temperature, in your temperature unit.
- temp: engine temperature, in your temperature unit.
- alternator: alternator voltage, in V.
A tag takes the colour of its value's alarm zone, green when the value is in none, and grey when the engine does not report it.
The right side: rpm: with the Max RPM you set, and fuel: in litres per hour when the engine reports its fuel rate.
The left side: load: in % and boost Pressure: in psi, each when the engine reports it.
The box at the bottom: the engine hours, for example 1234.5h. It reads --- until the engine reports its hours.
Troubleshooting
